The Company was organized by the residents of Berlin, Dover and LaMoille townships in Bureau County, Illinois and was called the Berlin Township Mutual Insurance Company. The first policies were issued on May 1, 1875. The company's territory has grown from the three original townships to thirty-nine counties in northern Illinois and has changed names twice.

We provide insurance coverage for farm and town property including farmowners, homeowners, mobile homes, dwelling fire, inland marine, livestock, boats, unlicensed recreational vehicles, farm and personal liability, and umbrella coverage. The liability coverage is provided by Farmers Union Cooperative Insurance Company of Iowa a subsidiary of Farmer Mutual Hail Insurance Company of Iowa. Farmers Mutual Hail provides the reinsurance coverage for our company.
